Just a little hypothetical situation for you: you are ruler of land A .. which is chock full of natural resources .... I am ruler of land B...and I want what's yours.. The only difference is I'm willing to do anything up to and including eliminating you in violent and bloody ways... are you seriously just going to sit on your ass while I take what I want... Or would you grow a pair and fight back? ..or would you outsource your war efforts and hire someone else to do your dirty work for you?

This sort of situation happens every day all over the world... Man will always be willing to fight man.. its human nature..
